September 16, 2009 - Be a health care hero and support the CKNX Health Care Heroes Radiothon October 17, 2009. Radiothon donations will help fund a new Nursecall System & Priority Hospital Equipment needs for your Southampton Hospital. We are thrilled to be participating in the 8th Annual Helath Care Heroes Radiothon". The Radiothon is sponsored by CKXN am 920 and 101.7 The One. We are joining with 14 other local Hospital Foundations to raise money for much needed hospital equipment. Donors may direct their donation to the specific Hospital Foundation they wish to support.
Our Radiothon goal for 2009 is to raise $50,000 to complete our fundraising goal to purchase a NEW Nursecall System for the Southampton Hospital as well as to fund priority annual equipment needs. This new technology will replace the current system throughout the patient care areas. By enhancing patient-to-nurse and nurse-to-nurse communications, the new Nursecall System will assist our nurses in delivering safe and timely patient care. Community support is critical to the success of our hospital because very little government funding is provided for medical equipment.
